ARCHERY GUYANA continues to move closer to Olympic qualifier with DEVIN PERSAUD

Archery Guyana proudly announces the participation of its 29 year old member Devin Persaud at the Hyundai World Archery Championships 2019 in the Netherlands. Devin has his roots in  Rosehall Town, Berbice but is currently residing and training in Canada. Archery Guyana continues in its development

Archery Guyana is expected to benefit from advanced training techniques and skills when its’ Outdoor Champion (2018) Robert Singh leaves for San Fernando, Trinidad to participate on the 18th to 21st May 2019 in a Development Coaching Seminar with the World renowned South Korean Archery Coach Kim, Hyung Tae Kim. Coach Kim started archery in 1967 when archery was first introduced to Korea. In 1971 he became the first Korean archery coach, he then studied and further developed archery techniques for archers. Archery Guyana will be represented at the 2019 Caribbean Beginners and Developmental Championships in Santo Domingo

Archery Guyana is excited and pleased to announce its participation at the III Caribbean Beginners and Developmental Championships to be held in Santo Domingo on June 28-30, 2019. Representing Guyana will be Local 2018 Outdoor Archery Champion, Mr. Robert Singh. World Archery Americas and the Archery Federation of the Dominican Republic invited beginners and developmental archers of the Americas to compete at the III Caribbean Beginners and Developmental Championships. ARCHERY GUYANA gets AFFILIATION to the GUYANA OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION

The Guyana Olympic Association has granted affiliation to Archery Guyana. This is a historic moment. It is a very big achievement for Archers and members of Archery Guyana. On Thursday 4th April, 2019, President of Archery Guyana, Mr. Mohamed Khan and Secretary-General, Mrs. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon attended the first Council Meeting where the Council was brought to date with their activities. ARCHERY GUYANA represented at the World Archery Ranking Tournament, Santiago City, Chile.

Archery Guyana proudly announces that member, Wayne Gerald DeAbreu, represented Guyana at the World Archery Ranking Tournament, in Santiago City, Chile. This event also served as a Second stage of qualifier for Pan-American Games, Lima 2019 but regrettably Guyana did not qualify. On Tuesday 2nd April, 2019 was the 72 Arrows Ranking Round as our Guyanese Archer secured position numbered 32 after shooting a score of 594. On Wednesday 3rd April, he was up against Bolivia in the Eliminations but regrettably lost in the first round to Bolivia 7-1. ARCHERY GUYANA meets with National Sports Commission and plans the way forward for 2019

Mr. Mohamed Khan, President of Archery Guyana and Mrs. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, Secretary General of Archery Guyana recently met with Director of Sport, Mr. Christopher Jones at the National Sports Commission, Homestretch Avenue. During this visit they updated the Director of Sport of the progress of Archery Guyana as they discussed their development plans including the proposed Junior Archery Programme, Schools Programme and Para-Archery Programme.  A consensus was arrived at to pursue greater Outreach programmes in collaboration with the NSC.
