Archery Guyana participates in Meeting with World Archery Americas

On August 08, 2020, The Board of Archery Guyana participated in a successful two-hour Zoom Meeting with World Archery Americas (WAA) and other National Federations. The Meeting was Chaired by Secretary-General of WAA, Mr. Sergio Font where a number of issues were discussed from the affiliation to World Archery, the Olympic Solidarity to World Archery Congress and the World Archery Americas General Assembly. Discussions were had as to the WAA Constitution and some possible positions which are up for election at the 2020 Assembly scheduled for later this year. Archery Guyana members continue representation at the 13th Stage of the International Remote Archery Competition

The 13th stage of the ongoing 60X ISOL Remote Shoot Virtual Competition highlighted strong competition among three of Archery Guyana’s members in the Recurve 30m category, yesterday Sunday 28th June, 2020 during the world’s ongoing Lockdown for the Covid-19 Pandemic.  The Mmatch ended with Samira Duncan  scoring 541 points whilst Umasankar Madray and Nicholas Hing scored 522 and 518 respectively. Archery Guyana members continue representation at the 11th Stage of International Remote Archery Competition

As ninety-three archers from twenty countries competed in yesterday’s 11th stage of the international remote archery competition in the 60X ISOL remote shoot competition and in keeping with the WHO COVID-19 measures, Archery Guyana’s number of competing archers is increasing and they are showing resilience and adaptation to this growing sport as evidenced on Sunday 14th June, 2020. Guyana continues to represent at International Remote Archery Competition

Continuing in the 60X ISOL Remote Shoot Competition, Guyana fielded three archers last Sunday, June 7 in the 10th stage of this novel virtual competition. With the focus on maintaining fitness and competitiveness during the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic lockdown and quarantine measures, all athletes are required to maintain the strict safety guidelines while competing, either from home or other venues. Archery Guyana continues to represent at International Virtual Competition

Archery Guyana proudly fielded two archers for the 60X ISOL Remote Shoot Competition held on 31st May 2020. This was the ninth stage of this novel Virtual Competition where approximately 100 archers from 16 countries as far flung as Norway, Australia, Britain, Belgium and even closer to home -  British Virgin Islands participated.
