Archery Guyana continues to represent at International Virtual Competition

Archery Guyana proudly fielded two archers for the 60X ISOL Remote Shoot Competition held on 31st May 2020. This was the ninth stage of this novel Virtual Competition where approximately 100 archers from 16 countries as far flung as Norway, Australia, Britain, Belgium and even closer to home -  British Virgin Islands participated. The aim of this competition is to keep archers focused on maintaining fitness and competitiveness during the world wide quarantine resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. Compound Archer, Winnette Lawrence represents Guyana in first ‘Online Archery Competition’

Amidst the COVID-19 Lockdown, Archers from around the world recently got together and competed in a novel Virtual Online Archery Competition. Archery Guyana is pleased to announce that in its 7th stage held on Sunday 17th May, 2020, our very own Archery Guyana member, Ms. Winnette Lawrence, competed as the first Compound Archer to represent our country internationally in Archery. Archery Guyana participates in GOA’s 4-day course

The Guyana Olympic Association/Olympic Solidarity sponsored Sport Administrators’ Course conducted at Olympic House, GOA’s headquarters at Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, was successfully concluded on Sunday evening with 21 participants receiving certificates in Sports Administration. Archery Guyana’ representative Nicholas Hing was among the 21 participants who came from a variety of sporting disciplines; Athletics, rugby, cycling, squash, karate and judo, to name a few. At the beginning of September 2019, the Queen’s College CXC Graduating Class of 1990-95 rekindled friendships and formed a diverse and dynamic group to plan their Reunion in 2020. This pro-active group of alumni from Queen's College has since met with the Principal of Queen's College and started discussions with the overall objective of assisting their alma mater. Since then, they have collaborated with the Board of Directors of Archery Guyana to plan the Launch of a "Queen's College Archery Club" with the hope that future Olympians will emanate from their School out of this fast growing and appealing sport. Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs/Archery Guyana Heritage Games 2019 archery competition a success

The culmination of a 2-day competition of traditional archery saw archers battling it out for top honours at the Indigenous Heritage Games 2019 on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, September at the Everest Ground. Among the more than 60 registrants were De Chief Archery Club team from Mainstay in Region 2, and the Archery Rupununi team from Region 9.
